MEET YOUR COACH

JASON CYR

Jason Cyr is a professional trainer and coach for all levels and formats of cycling. His winning experience as a competitive cyclist, expertise in exercise physiology, and myriad certifications combine to make him a well-rounded coach who successfully works with a diverse array of athletes across a wide variety of disciplines.

Jason loved being on two wheels before he could even walk. He grew up riding and racing BMX and motocross, where he honed his competitive spirit at an early age. Jason is a veteran who served 12 years combined experience in the 75th Ranger Regiment and as a Special Forces Green Beret, and other U.S. Special Operations units. During his 23-year active duty military career, Jason also enjoyed  racing as a member of the TEAM NOVO NORDISK Pro Cycling Team. After retiring from the military, he went back to school, earning a M.S. in Exercise Physiology and Human Performance in addition to his M.A. in National Security and B.S. in Organizational Leadership.

He founded Cycle Strategies in 2017, eager to share his passion for cycling and training with other athletes. He still loves to race today, currently focusing his efforts on enduro, cross-country, and downhill mountain bike racing. Beyond coaching his athletes, Jason loves to share his passion for the sport and culture of cycling anywhere and everywhere he goes. He lives with his wife and son in Davis, West Virginia, a mountain town known for its rugged, technical terrain and thriving mountain biking scene.
